Florence
Art, architecture and Tuscan flavour combine in a city where every street tells a story and every stay feels effortlessly refined.

A Living Gallery of Art and Architecture
Florence holidays immerse you in one of the world’s great cultural capitals. Stand before Michelangelo’s David, explore the Uffizi Gallery’s Renaissance treasures and admire Brunelleschi’s Duomo rising above terracotta rooftops. Churches, palaces and piazzas reveal centuries of artistic achievement, yet Florence remains wonderfully walkable. Here, history is not confined to museums, it shapes daily life in elegant and inspiring ways.
Where Culinary Tradition Meets Craft
Florence is as celebrated for its cuisine as for its art. From bustling markets to refined trattorie, expect bistecca alla Fiorentina, handmade pasta and local olive oil paired with Chianti wines from nearby vineyards. Artisan workshops continue traditions of leather, jewellery and fine craftsmanship. Florence holidays offer a rich blend of culture and gastronomy, perfectly balanced between sophistication and authenticity.

Beginning in Milan, this sixteen-day rail journey moves through Italy's most storied cities and coastlines, trading the fashion arcades and gothic grandeur of the Duomo for the pastel harbour fronts of the Ligurian Riviera. Santa Margherita and Portofino offer their particular charm, cobbled and unhurried, before the clifftop villages of Cinque Terre appear along one of the Mediterranean's most dramatic stretches of coast. Florence follows, its Renaissance galleries and terracotta skyline demanding more than a single day, and Rome delivers the ancient city in full, from the Colosseum and the Vatican to the baroque theatre of the Trevi Fountain. Venice brings the journey north again, a city of canals and bridges navigated best on foot or by gondola, and Verona, often passed over for louder destinations, rewards the curious with its Roman amphitheatre, narrow medieval streets and the enduring pull of Shakespeare's most famous setting. The final leg returns to Milan for onward departure.
