Andy – Hotel Vis a Vis, Sestri Levante, Liguria
Picture this: waking up to the gentle sound of waves, opening your window to breathtaking views across the Ligurian Sea, and realising you're staying at Hotel Vis a Vis.
This boutique hotel, with its incredible setting, became my sanctuary during my time in Sestri Levante. The blend of modern comforts and traditional Italian charm was evident from the moment I stepped into the lobby.
My room at Vis a Vis was a haven of tranquillity, adorned with coastal-inspired décor that perfectly complemented the surrounding seascape. The attention to detail and thoughtfully designed spaces created an atmosphere that felt like a true escape.
What truly sets Hotel Vis a Vis apart is the warmth of its staff. From the friendly greetings at reception to personalised recommendations for local gems, their commitment to creating a memorable stay was clear throughout.
The breathtaking panorama from the rooftop bar and restaurant stretches across the Bay of Silence and Fairy Tale Bay. During my stay, a storm rolled across the sea and watching it unfold from the comfort of the hotel created an unforgettable experience. Just as Hans Christian Andersen did in 1833, visitors today can still enjoy the enchantment of Sestri Levante and Hotel Vis a Vis.

Laura – Masseria della Volpe, Sicily
Masseria della Volpe is quite simply an oasis.
Located in the ever-popular south-east corner of Sicily, it offers the perfect place to unwind and reflect after a day of exploring.
In my opinion, it stands out because of its exceptional service, excellent value for money, environmental awareness, and remarkable attention to detail.
One of my favourite experiences was walking through the cooling mist before heading to the swimming pool, then wandering through the orchards and picking a fresh orange to enjoy while relaxing in one of the shaded corners overlooking the landscape.
The restaurant and spa create a complete sense of wellbeing, ensuring both body and mind leave feeling refreshed. By the time you head home, you may already be planning how to include Masseria della Volpe in your next Sicilian adventure.
Enjoy it for yourself.

Jani – Masseria Montenapoleone, Puglia
My first visit to Puglia exceeded all expectations and much of that came down to staying at Masseria Montenapoleone.
The experience began the moment I entered through its fairytale-like gates. From there, everything became a collection of unforgettable memories.
At reception, I received a warm welcome alongside a full introduction to the property and plenty of recommendations for places and restaurants across Puglia.
The grounds were mesmerising, featuring traditional Puglian-style buildings surrounded by vineyards, orange groves, olive trees, fruit orchards, and even animals. Its peaceful atmosphere makes it ideal for slowing down and relaxing.
I highly recommend making time for the massage facilities to enhance the sense of escape.
The highlight, however, was the food experience.
Their dedicated chef prepares dishes using ingredients grown on the estate itself. They also produce their own wine, which became one of my personal favourites.
The intimate restaurant setting allows the staff to deliver thoughtful, attentive service to every guest.
Breakfast deserves special mention. Fresh flowers decorate the dining space, while guests are treated to dedicated beverage service, dessert selections, and customised dishes prepared to order from a delightful menu.

Hayley – Donna Carmela, Sicily
Perfectly positioned between Taormina and the many highlights of south-east Sicily, Donna Carmela provides an ideal base for discovering the eastern side of this magnificent Mediterranean island, including the impressive Mount Etna.
The setting feels wonderfully secluded, with distant sea views framed by tropical plants and palm trees that create a sense of complete escape from everyday Sicilian life.
Yet authentic Sicilian hospitality is always close by.
The team ensures every guest is cared for, whether arranging Mount Etna excursions or preparing some of the finest cuisine on the island.
An added bonus is the opportunity to enjoy these meals alongside the estate’s own wine.
Cin cin!
